The FAQ claims it is a magnetic pickup... I'd suspect
its a telephone pickup coil from the dark ages...
The diaphram would have to be metallic in that case...
~or~ its a dynamic microphone element.
I've found that electric kazoos are VERY prone to
feedback in live applications....
so I have a "Kazoozaphone" which joins a trumpet bell
and a standard kazoo for those all important gigs...
