this is almost too funny. i had a td160, and it had a coin on the cartridge.
always. somehow it needed that, and it was fine. i remember taking it home
on the tram here in amsterdam, with that *&^%$ plateau weighing several
kg's. anyone complaining about the weight of sl1200's should start lifting
thorens's on a daliy basis..;-)
i gave mine away when i wanted my record players to have pitch control. but
i've seen these thorens prqactically being given away, like tape recorders..
shame, shame. in 20 years they'll be collectors items like the vinyl..;-)
