more like 7$ for AD633 in singles.
but I suspect that it's not so simple (if ever possible) to build ballanced modulator out of, say, LM13600 with parameters that AD633 gives without any extra circuitry.
Actually, I have bought a bunch of AD633 for fraction of usual price, so I'm a little biased here.
