[sdiy] monolithic VCO chips for FM??

Hi

 XR8038 or (another low cost  VCO chip LM566)  may be a solution. I 
found a clever circuit that expands its control range by driving current at
http://www.midwest-analog.com/diylvco.html
But it still needs a  tempearture compansated exponential current generator.
