I have seen a virtual "keyboard" for PDA:s that projects a
QWERTY-keyboard on the table with a small laser and then reads your
fingermovements with a camera. It would propably be very simple to
change the keymap to a standard musical or alternative keybord. Maybe
it's includen already! 
I think it would be available later this year.
It wouldn't be to hard to build yourself, a laserprojector can be built
for 10$ or so and i know that there i several motion/machinevision kits
out there (for robotics) for about 100$.
