[sdiy] "Audio" vs. "Log" taper

I was wondering what kind of pots are used in high-end hi-fi amps, so I had
written to Ralph Karsten. (My mistake, as Ralph is on AH, not SDIY.)  As it
happens, they simply don't use pots, so his answer, below, is kind of OT.
