I have another theory(ies)... Linear pots are more available, often
cheaper, shorter lead times, and the customer plain does not care /
does not notice the difference...
BTW the dual linear slope pots that 'approximate' the 'log' taper
absolutely SUCK imho. I used them ONCE in an ADSR. you can
tell RIGHT away when you hit the discontinuity. Because they are sliders
I never replaced them...
(so now I don't do sliders OR linear approx. pots)
