NPO is a *bad usage* in this case :) NPO is a ceramic, low-variance temperature-stable cap, usually 100pf or smaller. In THIS case, you want a "non-polorized" cap. You CAN get 1uf ceramic caps in what is called X7R ceramic. These are like 40 cents. Paul S.
