I was reading "The Technique of Electronic Music" by Thomas H. Wells and I came
across a circuit on the bottom of page 122, in the Modulation section that is
an exponential to linear CV convertor. If you can get a hand on a copy of the
book this circuit might give some insight. It uses three 741s, a 2N2913 or
2n2920 and a few other components and looks pretty simple.
