According to the info I have from TGS Electronics (from ~ 1982 or so):

"The SSM2055 VCTG (ADSR) is no longer in production and is not 
available.  The SSM2056 is pin compatable with the old 2055 and can be used 
as a replacement.  (The 2055 had a 10 volt output.  THe 2056 has a 5 volt 
output.)"
