   Well I would have liked to, but unfortunately certain special function 
chips weren't available in SMT form (can you believe that?!).  Also, from 
a longevity standpoint, I'm willing to bet that the 74 series sticks 
around a bit longer than the CD4K series (considering that only 2 mfgs 
make CD4K and one only makes 19 chips in that series).
