I agree - it is a fascinating concept, though I have a rough time imagining
it on a '2d' plane (so to speak)

I sure will be posting sound samples - the thought occurs to me that I ought
to get Thomas Henry's permission to post the generator part of it, since I
got it from a copyrighted source - I don't imagine he'll mind.

The circuit could be much better, I think - for example, running the Vactrol
resistors in parallel with the oscillator timing resistors guarantees (at
least with the original values) the fact that that with varying levels of
CV, some of the oscillators will stop oscillating - the 'R' becomes too low
to allow oscillation with the 40106 - I'm thinking that coming up with
series resitance values that will allow the original oscillations to
coincide at some point might be better.  That, and the reaction time of the
VTL5C2 is quite slow as well.

Oh dang, gotta run - Easter egg hunt for the kid =0).
