Assuming this is not for commercial production:
You could drill a hole through the top of a knob that fits the outer
shaft sleeve, using the knob's brass insert as a guide, and install it
on the bottom. The MOTM-style hexagonal 3/4" knobs fit perfectly on top
of the 1" variant, and the resulting combo looks pretty sharp IMHO.

Depending on the pot shaft sizes, you might end up looking for 1/4" and
1/8" shaft knobs that look good together.

This would be my second choice after reusing classic Tektronix red/black
knob sets.
