[sdiy] "spiral" waveforms - what about them?

I was thinking about this again last night - A quadrature waveform plotted
sine to Y cosine to Z and time along X would give a spiral. Again it is a
threeD problem that is totaly useless for a "single channel" waveform, and
would be more suited to modulation.
