They certainly don't exist, at least not in two dimensions.   The only
thing I can think of is by analogy to a circle: if you can think of a 
sine
wave as an "unrolled" circle, then you could visualize a spiral as
a sine wave that gradually increases or decreases in amplitude
and frequency.

However, there's certainly nothing radical about that; anyone on
this list could create one easily.  The only other thing I can think
of is a sine wave that is panned extremely rapidly between two
channels.  If the panning is at an audio frequency, I imagine the
result would be something akin to AM.  I'll have to try that sometime,
once I have a pair of reasonably matched VCAs.
