Hold your rotten eggs, I really do this and I get very nice, readable
schematics...

You can also do it Microsoft's Paintbrush. I have a document with most any
electronics symbol you'll ever need (I'll gladly send a copy to anyone who
asks). I simply copy from the "parts" document and paste into the new
schematic. And with Windows 2000 (and I assume XP) Paintbrush will save a
document as a GIF file. Every single schematic on my site was done this
way. It's surprisingly quick.

I must admit that I was taken aback by this gentleman's post. I couldn't
tell if he was really asking for help or pontificating. The tenor of the
post seemed to be one of each, but then this is a worldwide list and I had
no idea where he was educated. For the benefit of the doubt, I thought it
was just "his style". After I saw the "schematics", I decided to wait and
see if "gee, am I a super-dummy?", because frankly, I could make very
little of it out. The AH post was the nudge over the edge for me, when
offered some constructive critisism, he launches an "I don't need your
help", which I felt was quite rude to say the least. For a minute there, I
was wondering what I had missed that I didn't know what a spiraling
waveform was. I'm done with it.
