There was a large fire in the Caen fab (whereever that is). The grim
details are in  a PDF file called "Special Caen Fire Notice DN51". Not
only is the NE5517 dead, but also:

NE5532 (ack!)
DAC-08 (ack!)
LM311
LM324
LM1458
et etc etc

basically, all the old, vintage linear ICs I grew up with in the 70s and
80s. All wiped out (well, from Philips anyway).

Not to panic, I have 100s and 100s of NE5517s for my modules. But you
better get them NOW!!

On a positive note: check out the ARM7-based controllers that have 128K
FLASH, 64K (!!!) RAM and are $13ea!
