They're often filled with misplaced stuff that the shopkeeper doesn't 
find worthwhile to sort back into regular stock, and some components 
that look useful from a distance, but disappoint when you get to know 
'em, like rotary switches with a bizarre connection scheme, 
transistors with no visible markings, 10 ohm trimpots, or nuts and 
bolts that don't appear to be either imperial or metric.

But they usually have enough good stuff to make 'em worth the asking 
price, and sometimes the other stuff comes in handy when you're 
tinkering and don't want to have to run to Radio Shack.
