[sdiy] DIY in the family

On the phone tonight my dad asked me about building a MIDI output
interface. He has 2 j-wire keyboards from his diy organ dating from
the early 70s, based on wire-wound coil oscillators and divide down.
These are Italian in origin, both have gold contact wires, one with 2
contacts/key the other with 4. 

What I'm wondering is... does anyone have ideas for using the multiple
contacts? 2 would allow for an Odyssey-style duophonic CV/Gate.
