While this is a question for Uncle Eric I guess, through a stroke of good luck
and a blitzing coincidence I happend to have these (parts of them is at a
friend and others are here, so I don't have a good overview just yeat) and know
what you are talking about.

I think I can get away with these statements:

1) Make sure that they are taken care of. Make sure they find a good home,
   yours or somebody else's.

2) They are not unique, the info is around and I even think quite alot of it is
on the web these days (I where given a handfull of links, but haven't
checked them). Even if things is available on the web, there is a specific
feeling in having it in hardcopy, at least for me (i.e. I have a hell of a
time finding any left space for myself).

3) Make a deal you both are happy with. Start with some arbitrary value (say
50 USD) and reason about it.

PS. Please note that I am not stating that they are worth 50 USD or any other
value, I'm giving an example. On the other hand, I would be willing to pay
50 USD for them if I where in need of them (which I don't think I am
currently). If that is a guidance for you and your friend and it makes you
happy, then so much better.

Now, good luck on figuring out the right thing to do!

Cheers,
Magnus
