Firstly, greetings and best wishes to the list from a new subscriber/
poster.

If only the 2N5088 will do, you could try the following UK dealers who 
are listing it (I can't vouch for their stock though...)

Cricklewood Electronics (www.cricklewoodelectronics.com) list them at 
an outrageous UKP1.50 each.

Nikko Electronics (www.dalbani.co.uk) list them at UKP0.11 each, making 
the MOQ of 25 more palatable.

I've dealt with both and they're OK - good luck!
