[sdiy] VGA driver info

Do you have any recycled computer places around? You might be able to find
an ISA bus EGA or VGA clone if you dig through enough old crap... ISA is a
pretty simple bus, especially for a display, and the wonkiness of the EGA
architecture isn't too much of an issue if you're doing monochrome.
You might also be able to find a modern display card for PC/104, which is
basically an embedded ISA bus. It'll be more expensive than an old clone
card, but probably a lot smaller and less power-hungry.
You should be able to drive an EGA or VGA clone with just 8-bit bus accesses
even though most of these cards will support 16-bit, if you stay away from
lotsa-colors modes.
