I regularly run a 10000V trigger pulse* through my ponies - that gets an
interesting reaction/sound/movement etc.  So far, inversion usually occurs
when one of them wants his tummy tickled.

* the electric fence of course! - if the pony doesn't like getting zapped,
he simply has to stop trying to destroy the fence.
