You have hit on the quintessential Truth of Truths !!!  I babbled about this 
on the MOTM list awhile back - It really IS the reason we are all sorta dumbed 
down to some extent - on many things...its a shame really...

But once we hack our own way through -and find something that works - we're 
well on our way!
