[sdiy] Building on Pad Per Hole?

How about "Padless Plated Perf Board" ? :)
I used to have some PCB stock that was pre-drilled, with holes arranged in
a 0.1" grid. It was also fully copper-plated on one side. That's right, no
pads--just holes in an otherwise solid copper sheet.
The nice thing was, you could draw simple IC circuits with a resist pen,
etch the board, and have a useable printed circuit without having to align
or drill any holes. Yes, all your traces had to go around an array of
pre-existing holes, but it worked fine for simple circuits where you didn't
need a lot of skinny traces in a small area.
I thought the stuff was great, but it was hard to find. I haven't noticed
it in any catalogs recently. Does anyone know if it's still available?
later,
Glen
