[sdiy] Matrix 6 questions

So I got this great ebay deal on a Matrix 6, and I'm really having a good
time playing with it, but I've got two questions:
1 - Anybody got User and / or Service Manuals? John Mahoney found a link for
me, but they are only partial scans (five or six pages). It's a great start,
but I need more info (especially if I'm going to modify this little bugger).
2 - How do you save patches?!?!?! (please try to suppress your laughter). I
can get in a change things and I can deal with the matrix routings and all
that good stuff, but I can't SAVE anything! I tried pressing STORE while in
Patch Select, Patch Edit, Matrix Mod and even the Master Menu. I also tried
pressing STORE and then the patch number. I also tried holding STORE for
several seconds...nothing gets saved. YES, the memory protect switch is in
the OFF position and yes, the individual patch I'm trying to edit/save is
not protected.
As always, the group's help and wisdom is greatly appreciated. :) By the
way, this thing ROCKS. I love all the mod routings and polyphonic S/H and
the wacky envelopes and tracking generators and voltage controlled resonance
and a rather nice velocity/pressure sensing keyboard and on and on and on...
Happy Holidays,
