Hi John
You prlly need two supplies. If you have 24V you might make a voltage doubler
to
get the 48V... it would be a switching power supply so be careful of noise
problems.
There was some PAiA project that ran a voltage booster made of a 4049
inverter... that
has a max of about 18V though. The technique could be applied . iirc it was used
in the
"stack in a box" project.
Its important to note whether you need an isolated power supply (with the
grounds
separate). If you do, separate supplies would be the easiest way to go...
