         I am also in awe of the beauty of the CORDIC, and also in awe of 
the gent who thought it up (Volder)...I have simulated the algorithm on the 
PC successfully (program written in C++), and understand how it works, more 
or less...but I am amazed that it gives the answers it does, and even more 
amazed that Volder could come up with this in the first place.  If you were 
to come off the street and show me that algorithm and told me it could 
calculate transcendental functions, I would have just tried to calm you 
down while the men in white coats were on their way....
