[sdiy] semi ot: electrolytics / bomb ?

For an audio PSU you usually insert two resistors in the secondary,
about 100 Ohm (depending on load) and 1/4 Watt.
This will limit current in the short run, so nothing
will explode. In the long run the resistors just burn,
like fuses.

But a longer cable is certainly a good idea..
