Actually, the XR2207-XR2206 is very trivial to add exponential response 
too....the problem arises when you try to tune them.  The oscilators have 
very poor linearity which made them nearly impossible to tune.  That is 
what I meant by not being suitable.  However, they do make nice LFO's, 
especially the XR2206 with its built in sine converter/multiplier....
