Hello ,
I have builded a dual VCA module for my modular, with a pair of 2150 ,
the old father of the 2181 ... It is a "perfect" audio VCA module . The
soundis very very good and clean ! It is rather simple to interface the
218x to the usual CV voltages. I have also designed many audio devices
around THAT chips ( ex DBX ) and found some of those chips inside an
incredible list of audio devices i had in hand , to play with or repair
... . They are perfect for all kind of dynamic processor too, but also
for CV controled mixers ... If you want the best VCA , check the
DBX202 or THAT 2002 series ... They are builded with 8 selected 2150 (
may be today 218x ) in parallel to improve performance . So if you have
200 2181 may be you can made an octuple matching to build an ultimate
audio VCA :-)
Description of my Dual VCA module is at http://m.bareille.free.fr .
Inside the "synths" page choose "modular synth" .
Regards,
Marc B.
