    These chips are OK for non-pitch-critical applications.  The XR2206
is probably the most useful of the two, as it has a multiplier and a
sine shaper on board.  Both chips, however, are very non-linear.  My
first attempt at an exponential controlled oscilator used an
XR2207....(the year was 1975...maybe 76), and I quickly discovered it
was un-tunable.  But, if you don't need accurate pitch, they are very
nice chips.  (think LFO)...
