[sdiy] Volt per Octave

I am attempting to put together a modular synthesizer made entirely, or as much as possible, with vacuum tubes. I have gathered much information from many of you at various web sites. I am almost ready to bread board several designs I have modified or procured from the web, some out right ridiculous like a moog ladder with vacuum tubes but I am having difficulty with a reasonable design for a keyboard controller. I would like to use the one volt per octave standard that seems to go along with the majority of equipment. I can't seem to find a descent schematic or tutorial to guide me through the basics of the control circuit and it's drive of the VCO. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
