WOW!

Grant's EG feedback suggestion guided me smack into something I've been
working on for about 400 years

I've been trying for-ever to replicate Subotnick's transient chiff - it was
killing because the patch is so inherently simple, and I was within inches
and could never nail it. It became an obsession.

This evening when I tried out the feedback VC on my Blacet EG as grant
mentioned I realized that all that wasn't working B4 was the transient
envelope itself - i needed to replicate the response curve of the Buchla
envelope generators.

The Blacet's linearity is adjustable with an internal trimmer - and it
wasn't until put it on the scope tonight that I realized I had them both set
for linear operation (yeah, I know - why didn't hear this all these months -
who knows). By routing the positive output into the decay phase, it went
drastically logarithmic and BANG - the transient was golden.

The sad part is I use this feedback technique all the time, but usually only
for longer envelopes such as pans. It never dawned on me to use it for
transients - sheesh - I thought they were already non-linear.

duh.

Grant...THANKS!
