Hi, I am planning to build a 16 step sequencer, ala 303:style with accent/slide, but also possibilitys to add chords, velocity and stuff.
I am just researching now, but I plan to add these funtions.
* Midi in/out.
* Analog CV out.
* Possibility to control 17 tracks (16midi + 1 cv).
* Pattens/banks arranging (~1mb memory to store patterns/songs).
* A one row lcd display.
* Lots of buttons/leds.
* Sysex dump songs.
It would be nice to add some rotary conytrollers/automation midi cc automation, but I will start as simple as possible.
I don't want to spend a fortune on development tools, do you think a PIC is enough for this task? Also I would prefer C over assembly. Anyone with experience who can reccomend a PIC, a compiler, memory modules, lcd display etc.
Also I have no idea, how to implement the CV out, but I will start with the midi communication, and UI.
mvh,
David
