No need to hack.... +/-10V is ok as well...

Its a sure bet that you will need to use an attenuator at a VCF
input anyway... if you turn up the resonance even slightly, it will
clip.

I prefer the scheme of BIG swings at the VCO and then attenuate
when using filters, or as a CV.  You will almost never patch a full
voltage VCO to anything...
