I've seen a standard blue/green VFD with an orange foil in front of it 
in A VCR. Well, at least I think this was a VFD, but it was that 
typical blue/green colour. The display (with foil) was indeed orange 
but not very bright. It seems there's enough orange component in the 
light of the VFD.
