[sdiy] Complementary transistors

Hello group!

I would like to know what criteria one might use from the data sheets to 
match NPN to PNP transistors for complementary processes. I'm trying to 
find some PNP's to match some NPN 2N5089's, but would like to hear a 
discussion in general about this.
