For those looking for a sine converter, I know that 
Thomas Henry had what he claimed to be the "World's Cleanest 
Sine Converter" in his Electronic Drum Cookbook:

I believe it's 3080 based but I could be wrong since it's been
quite a while since I glanced at my copy of the book....

I'm also pretty sure it used a triangle wave as the input....
