[sdiy] Sound Master Memory Rhythm SR-88 - Info / Schematics needed

My SR-88 has stopped playing! I opened the hinged case when it was
switched on and I think the metal lid made contact with some solder
points and shorted them together. Now the clock doesn't run. Any
ideas?

Also I have an old Kay Memory Rhythm Machine which has identical
controls and inputs / outputs, even the switches, buttons and knobs
are the same - but the layout and PCB are different, the SR88 being
more compact. I'm assuming that the circuits would be virtually
identical, and perhaps there are other incarnations of this basic
programable drum machine. Specs are: 4 voices - BD SD HH Cy/Cym, step
time sequencer with 6 16-step and 2 12-step rhythm banks, each with
A, B, AB and Fill-in "variations" with fill-in options of 4, 8 or 16
and A red LED to indicate the down beat (1) - this is a green LED on
the Kay Memory Rhythm Machine.

I'm looking for any info and schematics for either / both. Also any
info on the type of synthesis used and the possibility of adding
additional controls - bass drum tune for example.

Any advice or URLs would be most welcome.

Steve
