Hello fellow synth geeks!
I would like to thank everyone for their suggestions for
inexpensive knobs, it was very helpful. Based on some of
the suggestions that I received, I believe that I have
found a solution.
My ex-wife used to like those wooden beaded car seat covers
that are supposed to be more comfortable. When one would
inevitably wear out I would save all the beads, like the
incurable packrat that I am. I have hundreds of these!
I found that I could easily drill these out to 1/4 inches,
attach them to the potentiomenter shaft with glue or a set
screw, and pop a hole plug into the hole on top. See the
results here:

These will work very well for my project, so it's back to
work!
Take care,
Doug
