[sdiy] cv sync'ed clock

Hi all:

Does anyone have a schematic for a circuit that would generate a clock 
signal for driving devices like shift registers?  The catch is that I'd 
want to be able to send a cv pulse to the circuit and have it sync to 
that.  The clock frequency would be some multiple of the sync pulses, say 
maybe 16 or 32 times faster.

I was thinking about flip-flops, but I've only taken one digital design 
class and none on analogue, so I'd really appreciate some insight.
