That's a major decision to make.

If I can, I'll have the keyboard integrated. It's more ergonomic
that way. All these pull-pots deserve to be in shortest reach
when I'm playing.
The drawback is that if I also use patch cables, I'll have them
dangling over the keyboard, and at least I have to make
a separate block for all the jacks, like the MS-20 and
PS-3100 has.

But doing it the PS-3200 / 3300 way with a separate keyboard
will be much easier. So I'm tempted to do it that way, especially
if I don't find a good keyboard action that "deserves" to be
included.

I will have a Midi input in any case.
I still have a Midi-to-individual-switches interface in the drawer,
from a company whose name I will not mention. (;->)

If I go the external keyboard path, then the VL-7 will be the
(Midi) keyboard. And I will bring out the VL-7's
wheels and aftertouch as analogue CVs if this is possible.
But that's a lot of extra connections, and a lot of work to
modify the VL-7. (Controllers over Midi is a no-no for me.)

It's a little misleading. I'm using a 6U (double Euro format) 19"
rack for the *internal* frame of the Instrument. It needs a larger
wooden enclosure anyway, keyboard or not. Just easier to
build (and to service) if it's a simple rectangular keyboardless
structure. I might even buy a small wooden cupboard and fit in
the frontpanel.
