Hi
For commodity parts, you should have no problem with quality since most of
the manfacturers have to struggle in the low-margin commodity market. Here
are some insights:
Digikey/Mouser: ridiculous markup, but creating an account with a
Distributor like Arrow or Insight is not practical for a DIY'er.
Sometimes these places sell parts rated for industrial ot Military spec,
hence a higher price--check the part number on the vendor's websites to
confirm ratings.
Radio Shack: i NEVER buy semiconductors there-- I ran into buyers for R.S.
in Singapore several years ago and they admitted they by QC reject parts
that don't meet spec and pass the joy along to you, the consumer. Explains a
lot...
