The searches for mag tape splicing tape indicate that Quantegy (formerly
Ampex) Blue tape is pretty common out there, comes in many sizes, and is
less than ten bucks for a hundred feet. The thing that's bugging me is that
it is repeatedly referred to as "removeable". Does that imply "temporary"? I
want "permanent". Or does "removeable" mean "permanent but if you really
want you can get it off without destroying the mag tape"?

Any experiences out there? The old Chamberlin loops currently have white
tape and I have not tried to pry them apart.
