[sdiy] OT: MPC60-help wanted!

Hi

I'm trying to fix a MPC60 for a friend and have run in to some
problems.
The symptomes are that the machine chews floppys. I replaced the
floppydrive but it still doesn't work as it should. 
Now i can save samples to floppy and sometimes load them but as soon as
i switch the MPC off and then on again and try to load it says that the
floppy is corrupted. The funny thing is that i can see the filename but
not load the file. When i look at the floppy in a pc i can see the file
and it even has the correct filesize.

Is the floppy-controller fried or is there some other explanation?
Anyone with any experience in these things?
