This concert might be of interest for German synth
DIYers, especially computery ones.

Romanfabrik, Frankfurt/ Main
April 26th, 20:30
Hans Zentgraf & Wolfgang Foag:
"Bach und Bild"

Violoncello player Zentgraf plays two Bach suites, and
mathematician/ artist Foag's computer program analyzes
the sound and creates imagery in realtime that is then
projected to the wall behind Zentgraf.

Paraphrasing the announcement, Foag tries to depict
the mathematical aspect of Bach's music in light
projections, which he considers a process of
"re-composition" and speaks of a "choreography"
depicting the dance character of the pieces.

By the occasion, I'm interested in any projects that
deal with making synths/ computers interact with sound
input - from vocoders to AI. If someone has any info
on Don Buchla's attempts in this field (the model 276
EEG Signal Conditioner, Rosenboom's role with it, how
it performed, alternative devices; and that ominous
model 299 Sili Con that was recently reissued for
David Kean) - please get in touch with me.
