Y-ellow all.
Anyone heard of a company called Grigsby-barton inc or a product
called a REEDAC? I'm trying to figure out just what the hell these things
actually are. Without actually cutting one open and exposing myself to
whatever the mystery package may hold in store.
I always thought these things were just a glorified reed relay designed for
mains applications. Sort of a poor man's solid state relay. However a few
things don't make a whole lot of sense.
The coil rating says 20 volts. It'll actually tick over at anywhere above
12 volts. However the line/load terminals have an on resistance of about
130ohms. I can hear a tiny little 'plink' inside when the power is applied
so I guess it's something mechanical going on in there but I'm not sure
what the score is.
Before I kill myself with one of these things by applying a whole bucket of
volts to it, can anyone enlighten me as to what actually is going on here.
Thanks in advance.
Be absolutely Icebox.
