I've seen a product called "Surf Boards" that have a variety of SMT pads and
pins on .100" centers that might be just what you're looking for. I think I
recall someone else on the list (JH?) saying that they had used them before.

find distributors (might even be available from Digi-Key or Mouser, I don't
