[sdiy] alternate Fatman panels?

all,

working on a PAIA fatman, already anxious to add mods, most of which will
have added controls that take panel realestate.  plus, i don't really like
th existing layouts (box or rack)--don't seem very intuitive.  so I'm
working on an alternate panel design, hopefully something that can go into a
rack like a motm unit (or 3 or 4u high, but that general approach).  anybody
done anything like this, or can point me to pictures/layouts?
